Lime with Iron Pyrites inset

Now privately owned, this was made from a wind-blown lime tree. As the sphere was being made a crack opened from pole to pole, so I opened this up further and incorporated the iron pyrites to sparkle in the matt black interior of the sphere.
This was then mounted on a piece of bog oak from the Ballaugh Curraghs, to contrast with the smooth and highly polished exterior of the ball.
